About Jamie Watson

From the moment Jamie Watson turned pro at the age of 18, he knew that he wanted to do more than just play soccer. While managing a professional career spanning 12 years across the country, Jamie has always dedicated himself to being the best he be, both on the field and off.

His contributions to the communities of Salt Lake City, Orlando and most recently the Twin Cities have created friends and fans in every market, making him a well known figure in each community. Jamie's off-field passions include significant charity work and broadcasting.

Jamie’s engaging personality and friendly disposition is perfectly suited for off-field roles. While playing for Real Salt Lake, Jamie was quickly identified by the team as a great representative to get out in public. He was a weekly guest on the top rated morning show 97.1 ZHT, appearing every week to talk a little bit about soccer and a lot about everything else. In addition to weekly radio segments, Jamie was the color commentator for several Real Salt Lake broadcasts on ESPN 700 when he wasn't on the field.

Salt Lake City also introduced Jamie to the rewards of community engagement. Jamie served as the RSL team ambassador to MLS program "Get a Kick Out of Reading," visiting schools each week to read to kids. He also served on the board of Heart to Home, an organization dedicated to encouraging and enhancing the lives of Utah families in need.

Jamie's dedication to community service continued when he moved to Orlando to play for Orlando City SC. In Orlando, Jamie was a regular participant in Make A Wish and was the official ambassador for Easter Seals. In 2013, Jamie was named Easter Seals Volunteer of the Year for his work with Camp Challenge.

Jamie also continued to pursue his love of broadcasting, providing color commentary for the Florida high school soccer state championships for boys and girls each year on Bright House Sports Network and regularly joining ESPN 580 radio.
